Quizlet has flash card and other study games. Can be played on mobile devices too. Anyone can make flashcards. And now Quizlet has the ability to add images, making it even better! If you are going to use an image, make sure you have copyright clearance to do so!

Other:Google Earth - visit the 21Things for Teachers website for more information about Google Earth. Google Earth must be downloaded and installed so we will not be using Google Earth during this session. Also, it is a bandwidth heavy application - so beware if you have an entire computer lab using Google Earth! Google Earth does have a browser plug in, but that too must be downloaded and installed. C. Discovery Education. (Licensed software service) Ingham County educators have access to this wonderful resource through a site license. There are over 40,000 videos, images, lessons, assignments, writing prompts, professional development, quizzes, etc.

Alternate site: Learn 360 offers PBS, NOVA National Geographic, and Standard Deviants titles to name just a few. Additionally, Learn360 offers teachers the ability to upload podcasts, documents, and other supporting materials
D. Teacher Tube and School Tube are free video services that offer video hosting, channels, and more. YouTube is the grand daddy of all video sites, and vimeo also is an option.
Other:iTunes is a free multimedia software program available for download from Apple. The program can play music and video, and also connects to the Apple iTunes Store where users can buy media and obtain free downloads. iTunes can play your local files as well. iTunesU is a portal of educational content available for play using the iTunes media player. Content includes lessons, course materials and more. Over 600 universities have active iTunes U sites, and distribute their content publicly at the iTunes Store.

2. Need sounds for a project? Freesound is for you! Sounds, not songs!
3. SoundCloud may be a perfect environment for alternative testing. Student uploads recording, you provide feedback.

5. Use Animoto to create short videos and presentations. Notice the examples at the bottom of Animoto's page as well as the Sample Videos link at the top. Educators receive a free Animoto Plus account.
